Summer Parks Program

Goals/Mission:

To provide a nature—and play-based camp that inspires artistic discovery and altruism, instills confidence and collaboration, and fosters a love for the parks of Fulton County and the environment around us.

CONNECT

Campers and camp leaders connect as a camp and in teams as they participate in park activities, community explorations, and service activities.

COLLABORATE

Campers and leaders collaborate during community explorations, service activities, and various field-game competitions to earn awards for kindness, gratitude, and leadership.

CREATE

Through nature and community-inspired art campers and leaders learn how to create using their imaginations.

PROGRAM INFORMATION

Camper Ages: 6-12 - $25 per week. Deduct 5% for each additional child.

Camper Registration: Runs from February to July until all spaces are taken. ​

Camp Dates: June 8th to 26th and July 6th to 17th | M-F, and 7:30 AM-12:30 PM.

The Summer Parks Program has always been designed to bring children and young adults together through a structured environment where they explore together. Any child who has completed kindergarten through grade 6 may attend, and we hope to register 110-116 campers this year. 

SAMPLE SCHEDULE

  • 7:30-7:45: Camp Directors and Leaders Meeting/Camp Prep 

  • 7:45-8:15: Breakfast (optional) & Check-In

  • 8:20-8:40: Camp Morning Meeting

  • 8:45-12:00: Park Rotations/ Community Experiences & Service Activities (snack time included)

  • 12:00-12:10 Camp Closing Meeting

  • 12:10-12:30 Check-Out & Lunch (optional)

  • 12:15-12:30 Camp Directors and Leaders Meeting/Camp Clean Up

CAMPER REGISTER

Please complete this form for each camper you plan to register. The Summer Parks Program Director will contact all caregivers in May with details about the first day of camp.

We work hard to keep camp affordable, but we understand that cost and transportation can be barriers for some families, including working or single-caregiver households. If you would like to participate in the scholarship program, fill out the Scholarship Application Form below.​​

​​​HOW TO SIGN UP

Select and Purchase one week at a time. After purchasing your weeks, you will receive a follow-up email to provide the camper’s first and last name with their shirt size. You only need to fill out the final registration form once with the first week you sign up.

CAMP LEADERS

Camp Leaders: Sophomores-College Graduates

​

​We are looking to hire 16-19 high school leaders/camp counselors to lead each group through daily activities and adventures around Rochester. 

 

Junior Leaders are incoming 8th graders/freshmen interested in attending camp for free and helping camp leaders with their groups. They participate in all the same activities as the leaders and learn leadership and collaboration skills along the way!

DONATE

Camper Scholarship: 

Though we work hard to keep the weekly cost down, we still want to be able to offer access to all children, especially those from families where the cost is prohibitive. By donating to the scholarship fund, you will help us reach our goal of being able to offer all children a spot at camp regardless of financial hardship.

 

Educational Materials, Community Experiences, /Carnival Activities: 

All materials costs are covered through the community via grants and fundraisers. This allows us to keep the cost of the camp down and makes it more affordable for all children.

 

Operation Costs

Donations also help recoup operational costs absorbed by the Park Board, allowing the program to remain sustainable while continuing to serve our community.

VOLUNTEER/CARNIVAL VENDOR

We need educators/reading enthusiasts interested in expanding their passion for reading, vendors, and volunteers for Parkilvall, backup snacks, and carpooling!
