Rochester Park & Recreation Dept.
The Rochester Parks and Recreation Department manages more than 220 acres of community spaces, including five park sites, a wetland environmental area, the Rochester City Pool, and the Round Barn 18 hole golf course. With a community of just over 6,400 residents, Rochester provides more than 36 acres of parkland per 1,000 people, which equals about 1,600 square feet of recreation space for every resident.
In neighborhoods where a park may not be immediately available, residents and children often enjoy recreation at school playgrounds and open fields, ensuring opportunities for play and outdoor activity throughout the city.
